F8 Photo Joins FUJIFILM ACADEMY: Basic Food Photography

On October 24, 2024, F8 Photo joined Fujifilm Academy for an enriching "Food Photography Workshop" led by Mr. Mike Perez, Owner of Peping's Photography Studio, at Citadines, Cebu City. The event welcomed 36 registered participants eager to refine their food photography skills with guidance from Mr. Mike, food stylist Mr. Borg Tundag, and documentarian Mr. Win Slow.

The workshop delved into essentials like the exposure triangle, lighting, and composition, giving attendees an understanding of the basics. Attendees learned about setting up camera gear effectively with hands-on tips for food photography, exploring the differences in continuous lighting, strobes, and the impact of both natural and artificial light on a scene.

Mr. Mike shared his "the simpler, the better" philosophy, emphasizing simplicity in food styling and shooting angles to create captivating, minimalistic compositions. Participants saw these principles in action during a live shoot demonstration where Mr. Mike highlighted optimal angles, lighting techniques, and thoughtful inclusions like garnishes and props.

The session wrapped up with an engaging Q&A, where Mr. Mike provided feedback and shared deeper insights on participant shots. With support from F8 Photo, which supplied essential equipment like Leofoto clamps, arms, JJC LED lights, and Zhiyun Fiveray lighting, attendees gained practical, hands-on skills to take their food photography to the next level.
