On November 9 and 10, Mr. Rommel Bundalian led Street Hunting 2: Cebu Edition, a dynamic two-day workshop that brought street photography enthusiasts together in the vibrant heart of Cebu. Supported by Fujifilm Philippines, ProArt by ASUS, and F8 Photo, Mr. Bundalian crafted the workshop to elevate participants' confidence and technique in street photography.
Day 1: Building Confidence and Technical Know-How
The first day focused on essential street photography skills, starting with a session on overcoming the fear of photographing strangers. Mr. Bundalian shared insights on how to build confidence while carrying your camera, approaches to interacting with subjects, and techniques to capture candid moments, including ways to make people comfortable enough to smile on camera. Participants also explored camera settings tailored to street photography, diving deep into full manual mode to get hands-on with their own gear and develop a more intimate understanding of their cameras.
Day 2: Composition, Photowalk, and Print Critique
On the second day, participants received in-depth lessons on both basic and advanced photography compositions, learning how to frame the city streets effectively. A guided photowalk allowed them to practice their skills in real time, with Mr. Bundalian providing tips and feedback on the go. The event concluded with a session on photo printing and critiques, giving participants a tangible takeaway and constructive feedback on their work.
The workshop didn’t just cover taking photos—it also included post-processing techniques that helped bring each image to life. With Mr. Bundalian’s practical guidance, attendees walked away with not only new skills but also increased confidence and a deeper understanding of the art of street photography.
