This is because the 40mm wide clamping screw has a tripod plate with a universal 1/4-inch tripod screw on the top, which allows you to place any camera directly on the MFC-60. A second dial with 1/4-inch tripod screw allows you to mount a camera when the clamp is not being used vertically, and a third tripod screw on the diagonal portion of this clamp stand allows you to simultaneously mount a ball head or a smartphone holder.
